NOEL BRADY BIOGRAPHY
Capricorn Coast artist and sculptor, Noel Brady, was born in Ballarat, Victoria, in 1946.

He studied at the Ballarat School of Mines and Industries Art School (later known as BIAE and more recently Ballarat University).

After completing National Service with 3 RAR, including a tour of duty in Vietnam (1968), Noel resumed his at studies at BIAE obtaining his Diploma of Art and Design, majoring in Sculpture.

He then went on to complete a teaching degree in Melbourne before beginning a career as an art teacher at Ballarat North Technical School in 1971.

In 1983, Noel and his family moved to Queensland where he took up the position of Art subject master at the newly created Emmaus Senior Secondary College in Rockhampton.

In 34 years of teaching, Noel’s own personal creative journey has included working in ceramics, watercolour, graphic design, photography, private sculptural commissions, plus numerous set design and construction projects.

He retired in 2004 to concentrate on his own artwork with a particular focus on sculpture.

Recent works have seen an increased interest in depicting stylised musical instruments and re-assembled piano parts.

He now lives and works in his bush studio near Emu Park.
