This month the Emu Park Art Gallery opens its ‘Winter Art Exhibition’ featuring the works of the twenty five artists in this art collective. Following the success of the two previous exhibitions this exhibition promises to be another selection of diverse and interesting works. The photographs of two new artists to join the group will highlight the diversity of the art works available from the gallery which vary to include watercolour, oil paintings, printmaking, pottery, sculpture and mosaics.
Photographer Simon Cox joined the Emu Park Gallery in 2018 and has been a regular exhibitor for the last 9 months. His spectacular work reflects his love of landscape and nature photography, as seen in his animal photographs, which he has observed on his many trips to Africa. Simon is an accomplished digital photographer a skill he has used in the production of magazines, catalogues, flyers and show books.
Simon has travelled throughout the world in his photographic work but is now settled in Zilzie. He is a foundation member of the Keppel Coast camera club and a member of the Rockhampton Photography Club.
The latest member of the Emu Park Gallery is
Alan Barker, an internationally known photographer, who teaches and leads
photography tours throughout Australia
and the world. As a professional photographer, he
has had the pleasure in working with and co-leading workshops with other
professional photographers from the United States, New Zealand and Australia; catering to a wide range
“I believe that photography is a source of personal inspiration and expression, where each image crafted holds an individual message for the creator and viewer alike. I love to photograph landscapes and wildlife and have a great enthusiasm for leading photography workshops, which allow me to teach the intricacies of photography to other enthusiastic photographers.”
Both Alan and Simon’s stunning landscapes will feature in this exhibition. The exhibition will open on Sunday 30th June at 4.30pm at the Emu Park Gallery, Pattison Street, Emu Park. All are welcome to attend. The Gallery workshop program still has vacancies in workshops scheduled for the next six months.
