SERIOUS AND SASSY
The work of artist Jan Ford reflects her excellent technique and creativity. Like the artist herself, her paintings emulate both her serious side and her sense of playfulness.
Jan’s art journey commenced in Tasmania where she studied oils, watercolour and acrylic techniques, as well as portraiture with artists such as Yvette Watt, Greg Waddle and Roger Murphy. She was an exhibiting member of the Art Society of Tasmania, where she won the ‘People’s Choice Award’ and was a member of the Backroom Girls Art Group in Kingston. Her artwork was also published in the Tasmanian 40 Degrees South Magazine.
Since moving to Central Queensland Jan has been a member of CQ Contemporary Artists and the Emu Park Gallery, as well as studying painting with Patrick Connor, printing with Peter Indans, life Drawing with Carmen Gray and Oils with Lyn Diefenbach.
Jan has exhibited at the Bayton Awards and won the Livingstone Shire ‘Design a Sign’ Competition, Welcome to Emu Park.
In between serious art works Jan likes to paint amusing and light-hearted works which allow her to relax and enjoy her art.
